At HOP DESIGN, quality begins with the fabric. Before anything becomes a sheet, a pillowcase or a duvet cover, we look at how the material feels against the skin, how it breathes, how it drapes and how it will behave after many nights of use.

Our bedding is made from high-quality combed cotton woven in a refined percale structure. The result is a fabric that feels smooth, fresh and naturally crisp — elegant without being fragile, soft without losing its clean, breathable character.

We do not believe in quality that only looks good on paper. A beautiful fabric is not created by one number alone. It comes from the quality of the fibre, the yarn, the weave, the finishing and the care put into every stage of production.

Our cotton fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, which means they have been tested for harmful substances and are suitable for close contact with the skin. For something you sleep in every night, this is not a detail — it is part of what makes the product trustworthy.

What Makes a Fabric Feel Premium?

In bedding, numbers are useful, but they never tell the whole story.

Thread count describes how many threads are woven into one square inch of fabric. It can help you understand the density of a cotton weave, but it should not be treated as a simple ranking of quality. A very high thread count can sometimes be the result of technical counting tricks rather than a better fabric.

What matters more is the combination of good raw cotton, fine yarn, a well-balanced weave and thoughtful finishing. These are the elements that decide whether bedding feels breathable, smooth, durable and pleasant against the skin.

Our cotton percale has a thread count of 300 and a weight of 145 GSM. This gives it the character we look for: fresh, smooth, breathable and substantial enough for everyday use. It is light on the body, but not thin; crisp in touch, but not stiff.

GSM, or grams per square metre, describes the weight of a fabric. It is especially helpful when comparing materials such as blankets, towels, jersey or wool products, where weight and structure play an important role in how the product feels.

Thread count and GSM measure different things. They can give useful information, but they are not a shortcut to judging quality. The real test is much simpler: how the fabric feels, how it sleeps, and how well it lasts.

OUR FABRICS

PURE COTTON – CLASSIC

Crisp, smooth and naturally breathable.
Made from mercerised, long-fibre combed cotton with a 135 g/m² weight, this fabric has the fresh, clean feel of a fine cotton shirt — cool to the touch, softly structured and made for everyday comfort.

Our cotton fabric is made from long-fibre combed cotton, carefully selected for a smoother, cleaner and more durable finish. The fibres are combed to remove shorter, weaker strands, leaving a finer yarn that feels softer against the skin and helps the fabric keep its neat appearance over time.

With a weight of 135 g/m², the fabric offers a balanced feel: light enough to stay breathable and fresh, yet substantial enough to feel refined, stable and well made. In bedding, it gives a crisp, smooth touch with a naturally cool hand — the kind of clean, dry comfort often associated with a freshly made hotel bed or a beautifully tailored cotton shirt.

The fabric is also mercerised, a finishing process that enhances the cotton’s smoothness, strength and subtle lustre. It gives the surface a more polished look, improves colour depth and helps the bedding feel softer and more elegant, without losing its fresh cotton character.

The result is a fabric that feels calm, breathable and precise: smooth but not slippery, crisp but not stiff, light but not flimsy. Designed for everyday use, it brings together technical quality and quiet comfort — bedding that looks beautifully neat and feels even better night after night.

SATEEN COTTON – DELUXE

Our softest cotton with a silky, enveloping touch.

Made from 100% cotton in a smooth matte-sateen weave, DeLuxe has a higher 155 g/m² fabric weight for a richer, more substantial feel — soft, breathable and quietly luxurious.

DeLuxe is our most refined bedding fabric, created for those who want a truly elevated cotton experience in the bedroom. Made from 100% combed cotton in a delicate matte-sateen weave, it combines natural breathability with an exceptionally smooth, silky touch.

The fabric feels soft, fluid and gently enveloping against the skin. It has the elegant comfort of sateen without looking overly shiny — more understated than glossy, with a calm, refined finish that makes the bed look beautifully dressed.

With its elevated 155 g/m² fabric weight, DeLuxe feels more substantial than standard cotton bedding. It drapes softly around the body, giving a sense of warmth, comfort and quiet luxury, while still remaining breathable and pleasant for everyday sleep.
